Dear Friends and supporters,
As you will know tomorrow the 2/5/24 is the election for local councillors for West Lancashire.
We have three candidates standing in Ormskirk:
1/ Simon Evans (Ormskirk East) - left
2/ John Bullock (Ormskirk West) - centre
3/ Nigel Wilson (Aughton & Holborn)
We have not stood for Council before, but we are determined to make shockwaves within the local elections, prior to the general election.
Council provides essential services that we all rely on. Over the years the current councillors have let us down. Voting the same way year after year, generations after generation will only deliver further disappointment and mis-management.
- The roads in Ormskirk are some of the worst in the country, making driving very difficult and costing motorist serious money due to the lack of maintenance and repair. Reform will make the upkeep and repair of the roads number one priority.*
- The garden waste bins collection pricing is set to rise yet again. Reform will fight to scrap these costs completely.
- Tackling Anti-Social behaviour and crime has become a increasing problem that needs to be "nipped in the bud" before it increases. As an expert in this area, in my professional career, Reform will work closely with the local police and council to implement processes to make Ormskirk a safer place to live and work in.
- Council spending is always a issue, but Reform will oppose and hold official's to account for wasteful spending, such as the recent Ormskirk bus station and car park.
- Reform will fight to defend our countryside and farming land in West Lancashire, ensuring people can enjoy the area and farmers, who are the backbone of our country are enabled to thrive and get on with farming without Interference from local or national government.
- Reform will fight to limit major house building across West Lancashire, ensuring our rural heritage is preserved and protected.
- Reform will reverse the divisive 'woke' culture within our society
- Reform will hold Utility Companies legally responsible for sewage spills. Lancashire has the 6th highest rate in the UK, effecting West Lancashire directly.
- West Lancashire needs business development and more jobs. Reform is the party of 'Job Creation' we will set up a "business generation hub" to attract new business and new jobs to the area, making the area attractive to new business in particular new technology firms, leisure services and new retail, both established and new business. We shall seek national business seed funding for the area.
- Reform will lobby against any further price rises in parking charges in Ormskirk
- We will fight to develop and promote Ormskirk markets, including night time and Artisan Markets, we will work with local retailers to remove barriers to the footfall in the Town Centre and red tape and financial burdens which hinders retailers.
Reform is now the third most from popular Party in the UK and rising upwards quickly. We will bring common sense, problem solving solutions to the council to ensure that local residents voices are listened to and fully represented to ensure that we all can live and work in an area that is of high standard of life that we all deserve.
